SIPTU says the appointment of a liquidator to the Nuremore Hotel in Carrickmacross shows more protections are needed for workers. Representatives held a general meeting of workers formerly employed at the hotel on Sunday.
Sector Organiser, John Regan, told this week's Wider View that, while workers have mixed feelings, they are relieved that following 111 days of protest their voices have finally been heard and the long running dispute concerning the future of the hotel is coming to an end.
First though, he began by highlighting "the terrible situation" that workers at the hotel found themselves in when difficulties arose last December.
