"Everyday people are taking life into their own hands at Whitegate Cross." That's according to Cllr Shane P O'Reilly. He believes that the people of East Cavan have been "let down" by the lack of action taken to address safety concerns at the busy junction. The Mullagh native shared his frustrations to Northern Sound over yet another "standard response" which he recently received on behalf of the National Roads Authority, along with the TII after consultation with Bus Éireann and a number of other stakeholders. The response confirmed that the junction at Whitegate Cross will be looked at in the overall picture of the bypass in Virginia which will not be finalised until 2031.
