Parents of children with ASD in Monaghan town have voiced their concerns over the lack of special classes or units in local schools.
As a result, children have been left with no other option but to be transported to units in rural locations some miles away, necessitating longer travelling times and longer days for children who already have many challenges.
Our reporter Jodie Curran spoke with local mother Siobhan Cawley who has brought this matter to the fore through her engagement with local politicians and the creation of an online petition for parents to sign.
