Listen Back: Homeless people sleeping in fields around Carrickmacross

Yesterday, we brought you the shocking revelation that homeless people are sleeping in tents and fields around Carrickmacross.

Homelessness figures for County Monaghan were released at the most recent meeting of the Council this week which shows there has been 137 presentations for homelessness so far this year.

Of that figure 23 were families and over half of the total were Irish people. Sinn Féin Councillor Noel Keelan raised the homelessness around Carrickmacross at the meeting. He told Zoe Tunney the problem is complex that requires a wrap-around solution.
