€415,000 in funding has been approved in recent days to complete what is being described as a "game changer" regeneration project in Bailieborough.
In 2021, The Bailieborough Courthouse Economic and Tourism Hub was allocated an investment of over €1.4 million under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund.
Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys has approved the funding which will see the re-development of a derelict building in the town centre as an economic, community and cultural hub that will include a visitor centre, museum and cultural and exhibition spaces.
The local Minister says the first Plantation museum in Ireland will be located in Bailieborough which also will include remote working and youth facilities under the project for the Cavan town.
Minister Heather Humphreys says this will deliver so many economic and social benefits for the region, she has been telling our reporter Ronan Gargan all about the regeneration project.
