The Irish Wildlife Trust is calling on the Government to ensure the recommendations of the Citizens' Assembly on Biodiversity Loss are fast-tracked for action. It says a cross-party Oireachtas committee would be best placed to set about pritorising the 159 actions contained in the final report which was published last month.
The organisation's campaigns officer Pádraic Fogarty spoke to the Wider View this week and he says it's imperative to move from making recommendations to implementation. He began by highlighting the significance of this latest Citizen's Assembly report on biodiversity loss.
