The Northern Sound region is set to benefit from a emergency medical response charity that has revealed they are now set to offer there services across the entire country.

CRITICAL, the emergency medical response charity, has announced a partnership with the National Ambulance Service that will see National Ambulance Staff Off-Duty Responders being able to volunteer with the charity whilst responding to potentially life-threatening emergencies in their local communities.

As part of the partnership, CRITICAL will provide vital equipment to off-duty paramedics and advanced paramedics who are tasked to incidents such as road traffic collisions, cardiac arrests, farming accidents and other medical or traumatic accidents.

A donation of €15,000 in honour of the late Killian Casey has been pledged to launch new CRITICAL Emergency Medical Responder and First Responder projects across Cavan to honour of Killian's legacy.

It will cost the charity €1,500 to equip each volunteer, all of which is being funded by CRITICAL. Each responder will be provided with an Emergency Backpack containing a defibrillator, a resuscitation kit and a medical diagnostic kit

Micheál Sheridan, CEO of CRITICAL who is a Ballinagh native says time saves lives and having responders close by when an emergency takes place is crucial in achieving this.
