Eirgrid have written to landowners in counties Cavan, Monaghan and Meath offering them €50,000 for each pylon built on their land.
A Monaghan councillor has raised his concerns over these financial offers made to local landowners by Eirgrid.
The offer was made in relation to the construction of the controversial North South Interconnector.
In a statement issued to Northern Sound today, EirGrid has recommenced landowner engagement on the North-South Interconnector Project by writing directly to almost 400 landowners in relation to hosting infrastructure for this strategic infrastructure project in counties Meath, Cavan and Monaghan.
Ronan Gargan has been speaking to Cllr Seamus Coyle about the current situation as it stands.
