The issue of children siting on floors in hallways and other rooms in a Cavan secondary school was raised in the Seanad by Senator Joe O'Reilly this week. He described as "disgraceful" how there are 620 pupils enrolled in St Aidan's Comprehensive School in Cootehill and there is only seating for 60 children during lunchbreaks.
Senator O'Reilly told the Wider View that he has received assurances from the Department of Education that this matter will be addressed.
