Today marks St Brigid's Day and on Friday next, the 3rd of February, Cavan Older People's Council in conjunction with Cavan County Council will hold an online Spring Workshop and Celebration of the female patron saint.
Joyce Fitzpatrick will facilitate the event which aims to explore the mythology associated with St Brigid.
Joyce told the Wider View that the much-loved Irish Saint is associated with courage, compassion, kindness and integrity - qualities that are as important today as they were when St Brigid lived during 5th and 6th century Ireland.
