Miscarriage is an age-old condition but that should not mean it's dealt with by archaic laws.
Mother and councillor Áine Smith has asked Cavan County Council to add its weight behind a new bill. The Bill is currently making its way through the Dáil and Seanad. The Bill would provide paid leave for families affected by miscarriage and stillbirth.
Cllr Smith, has asked the Council to write to the government requesting that the bill is approved. Additionally, Cllr Smith proposes the Bill is brought into law by the end of the year.
Áine told Zoe Tunney she was moved to do something about this issue because she knows people who have went through the pain of losing a baby.
