Castle Saunderson in Cavan has been listed as one of the top ten Most-at-Risk-Buildings by An Taisce. It fears the important building, along with others such as Castleblayney's Market House, could be lost to future generations unless action is taken to preserve it.
The 18th century house has suffered fire damage but the church in the grounds has been brought back to use as a scouting centre but a major project is needed to find a use for the 'very important' building. Castleblayney Market House found itself in a dire situation recently after an internal wall collapsed, prompting fears the structure is now unstable.
