Carmel Ellis from Ballinagh has been named Netwatch Cavan Family Carer of the Year.
Carmel cares for family friend Maura Ellis who has poor eyesight due to a degenerative eye condition and poor mobility.
She also plays a very active role in the community and is involved in many local initiatives including Meals on Wheels and the local community bus service.

Carmel gives of herself fully to the needs of others, goes out of her way to help people in the community and is always just a phone call away if needed.
