Calls have been made for another Dog warden in Co Monaghan by a local councillor at a meeting of Monaghan County Council last week.
Sinn Fein's Sean Conlon said the appointment would allow for further enforcement of the dog control act to be carried out.
He added that further legislation is needed to make sure that laws are being abided by.

Ronan Gargan has been speaking to Cllr Conlon about this issue and he has also highlighted that there is a stray dog in Monaghan Town that has not been caught by officials for up to 5 years .
