Cavan-Belturbet Municipal District Councillor John Paul Feeley is calling for safety barriers to be installed on the R200 from Glan Gap towards Glangelvin at Bealbally. The councillor from Blacklion says many HGVs already travel the road to and from Dowra Mart and an increase in the volume of traffic on that stretch is expected when improvements to the Shannon Pot and Cavan Burren Park are completed.
The road in question drops off at a considerable height in some places and Councillor Feeley wants to see barriers installed in these black spots like those already installed at the Blackrocks.
