Last September, Australian Paralympian Sarah Walsh and her mother Patricia - who is a Connolly from Clones in County Monaghan - joined Aaron McElroy on The Wider View to chat about Sarah’s experience of the Tokyo Games and her connections to Ireland. You can listen to that interview HERE.
During the conversation, it was hinted that we had a state of the art athletics facility in Clones that was available for training if she was ever a bit closer to home.
Well, yesterday evening you’ll never guess who was doing a few long jumps and sprints at the PEACE link in Clones along with the juvenile members of Clones AC. This event was organised as a small way to honour Sarah and her work to put clones on the map and celebrate her connections.
Afterwards, Sarah spoke to Aaron again, this time in person, to talk us through the experience.
