Monaghan Hospital has just been awarded Age Friendly status making it just the second hospital in the country to achieve the title,
It was awarded to the local hospital by Age Friendly Ireland, the organisation charged with delivering the government's vision of an Age Friendly Ireland.
Monaghan has proudly been an Age Friendly County for over a decade after Monaghan County Council signed up to the programme in 2011.
Seamus McDermott, Age Friendly Ambassador, Monaghan says he was delighted that Monaghan Hospital has achieved the Age Friendly Hospital accreditation. The significant improvements made to the hospital enables older patients to enjoy an improved hospital experience and make the hospital a better place to visit for all.
