Residents of Kilnaleck 'disheartened' over plans to close Kilnaleck Garda Station.
This move comes on the back of a series of losses that have already profoundly affected the village. Specifically, the closures include the post office, bank, credit union and GP services in recent years.
Indeed, a recent press release from the Kilnaleck Area Development to Northern Sound states; our rural communities serve as the heartbeat of Ireland, steeped in history, culture, and a strong sense of togetherness. Yet, with the removal of each essential service, the fabric of our village weakens.
Local man Nathan Galligan, who is a member of the Kilnaleck Area Development group, has been speaking to Ronan Gargan. Moreover, he says it's simply not good enough and clarity surrounding these plans are needed.
