A Monaghan native who has been nominated for a Grammy says artist should 'claim what they want to be'.
It was announced this week that Fontaines DC, a band which includes Conor Curley from Tyholland and members from across Ireland, is nominated in the Best Rock Album category for their second album "A Hero's Death".
Conor said that they hadn't been expecting to receive the nomination and is delighted to be recognised alongside artists such as The Strokes and Grace Potter.
He says it was important they release the music now while it was relevant to their lives and they are working on new music at the moment.
The Grammy Awards will take place on January 31st.
