A bill on period poverty is currently making its way through the Seanad.
It is being brought forward by North County Dublin Senator Lorraine Clifford Lee, and supported by some local groups.
Both Senator Clifford Lee and Meabh Cusack a Monaghan student joined Sheila Naughton this afternoon to talk about what period poverty is and why this legislation was needed:
