Some of the 90 Syrians destined for Monaghan arrive in the county this week. Several families arrive in Carrickmacross while the remaining families will start arriving over the coming months.
Monaghan has been selected as the destination for 19 families, consisting of 40 adults and 50 children approximately as part of the Irish Refugee Protection Programme.
The county council's housing section has been working with local landlords to secure suitable accommodation for the families.
Bernie Bradley is involved with the resettlement of the Syrians in Monaghan, and joined Caroline Gauley on The Wider View to talk about their arrival.
