HUGG was set up by Fiona tuomey after she lost her 11 year old daughter to suicide and the support group has since spread to various parts of the country with a need identified in this region given the high rates of suicide.
The group is meeting tonight, Tuesday the 29th, and they meet regularly at the moment via zoom to offer support to those grieving a loss of this kind.
Patricia Smith and Joseph McCabe are both local facilitators for the support group after having their own experiences with loss through suicide and they have been speaking to me ahead of their next meeting about how they became involved and what the group has offered them and others.
