Landowner consent will be vital to delivering the proposed Cavan Greenway.
That's according to Councillor John Paul Feeley, following the release of the indicative route options for the 40 kilometre project.
However, the west Cavan councillor adds that people are open to facilitating the greenway and that the Council "will work in a constructive manner" with landowners.
The proposed Cavan Greenway will form part of a "regionally significant greenway" that will provide links to the Ulster Canal Greenway, and connect the towns of Cavan, Ballyconnell, Belturbet, and Clones.
The first round of public consultation will take place in the coming weeks, and Councillor Feeley says the works advancing to this point "is a very important step".
