A Monaghan councillor has called on the planning authority to take photographs of masts to ensure additional antennae aren't being installed.
Councillor Brian McKenna raised the issue at a recent Monaghan MD meeting.
He said there was a period last September when numerous vans were seen operating around the Killygoan mast.
Councillor McKenna added that residents raised concerns about this and he sought a report from the Local Authority's Planning office on the matter.
In the report, ESB said the vans were undertaking "significant maintenance works" on the mast and that all works have been carried out within the provisions of the Planning and Development Act.
At the Monaghan MD meeting, Councillor McKenna asked if photographs were taken "of what was on the mast prior to and after the works were carried out".
Speaking to our reporter, Diarmuid Pepper, Councillor McKenna said taking photographs before and after the works would provide comfort to residents:
