HEAR MORE: Local Green Party rep on the updated Climate Action Bill

A local Green Party representative says the updated Climate Action Bill "is a huge moment for the party and the country as a whole".

The Environment Minister and Green Party Leader, Eamon Ryan, brought the updated bill to Cabinet yesterday.

It includes plans to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, as well as climate neutrality by 2050.

Local representative Tate Donnelly says "every part of society will have to play its part" to meet these commitments.

While Tate called these targets "ambitious", he added that it's the "minimum we have to do".

The Green Party rep Tate Donnelly spoke to Aaron McElroy on The Wider View about what's involved in the updated Climate Action Bill and on the benefits it could give to rural Ireland:
