July 1st marks Canada's National Holiday, and Canada Day is being celebrated online in County Monaghan today.
In previous years, celebrations were held in the local region to mark the day but plans for celebrations were cancelled due to Covid-19.
County Monaghan is twinned with Prince Edward Island and Miramichi, to mark links that were first established after migration from Ireland in the 1800s.
A number of events have been moved online instead, with the Canada Day in Monaghan committee hoping it will re-affirm the county as "Canada's Home in Ireland".
