There are calls for sunscreen to be made more affordable as the hot weather continues.
Fine Gael Senator Tim Lombard raised the issue yesterday stating that the Government needs to address the high VAT rate on the product.
He revealed that his brother died from skin cancer nine years ago saying that something must be done so that everyone can access sun protection.
Currently sunscreen is taxed as a luxury item at 23 per cent which until recently, was higher than that of sunbeds.
