Garda Edel Dugdale who is originally from Delvin in Co Westmeath and her colleague Garda Grace Murray from Dundalk came to national prominence this week after they saved the life of a three month-old baby girl at Trim Garda Station.
A woman arrived at the garda station in a distressed state carrying an infant baby who was unresponsive.
The closest hospital is 15km away and Garda Edel Dugdale and Garda Grace Murray who were on-duty at the station immediately responded with lifesaving CPR.
The baby regained consciousness and was cared for until paramedics arrived.
