Approval granted new permanent school Gaelscoil Bhréifne. Norma Foley, Minister for Education, announced that an Agreement in Principle reached for the acquisition of a 2.89-acre site and school building at Aughnakerry. This is to provide a new permanent school for Gaelscoil Bhréifne.
Additionally, as part of the agreement, the vendor will construct a 4-classroom extension. Indeed, planning permission has already been granted. Jodie Curran spoke with Deputy Niamh Smyth. Deputy Smyth welcomed the news stating that this is "brilliant news" for this fantastic school in the heart of Cavan Town:
