The Embassy of Ireland in Seoul will host an event tomorrow to honour the memory of Cavan priest Fr Kevin O'Rourke, to mark 60 years since his arrival in Korea.
The event will gather some of Fr Kevin O'Rourke's dearest friends, colleagues and family members, and reflect on his work, his legacy, and his contribution to Korean life and society.
Guests will come from a variety of facets of Kevin's life. These include the Columban Missionary community; Korean Universities; the media, his circle of poets and poetry enthusiasts, the Irish community, and of course his family. Seán Óg McKiernan will perform songs from Cavan on the night.
An event in Cavan at the Kilmore Diocesan pastoral centre will be held to coincide with the event at 10am tomorrow also. Ronan Gargan has been speaking Ambassador to Ireland to Korea, Michelle Winthrop about the event.
