Eirgrid have requested a meeting with planning officials from the Cavan, Monaghan and Meath County Councils to discuss the North South Interconnector.
The project is a joint plan by Eirgrid here and electricity supplier Soni, in the north to add a new 400 kilo Volt overhead electricity power line which would connect the grids of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Fianna Fáil Cavan Councillor Clifford Kelly has kept the issue on the agenda at Cavan County Council with a standing motion at the beginning of every monthly meeting.
The motion requires the Director of Services to give an update on progress on the project.
