On St Patricks Night 2,500 people gathered at the Irish Stand in Manhattan to protest Trump's immigration ban.
Speaker after speaker raised their voices in full throated defence of diversity and human rights and in strong opposition to what they called Donald Trump's attacks on immigrants.
As a country who have relied on immigration for our very survival - demonstrators said it was important to show their support for people who feel disjointed from Trumps policies. One of the organisers of the demonstration was Cootehill human rights activist Ruairí McKiernan.
