A talented Shercock teenager has won the 'Best Director' award at the Young Filmmaker of the Year event .
Alanna Corcoran Cusack took home the award for her short film Reprisal at the national awards.
The prestigious awards were televised on RTÉ on last week.
Alanna used her speech to thank her family, friends, actors and her Colaiste Dún an Rí teacher Ms Dunne.
She has been speaking to our reporter Ronan Gargan about her win and her future plans in the film making industry.
The 15-year-old's achievement is all the more remarkable as this was her first film. Ronan started his conversation with Alanna asking her all about the awards event.
