The Government is meeting this week to agree on what restrictions to ease next in the reopening of the country, and what the roadmap for the coming months might look like.
All the while, in Northern Ireland, progress on reopening is carrying on a few steps ahead. Last week, hairdressers, barbers and other close contact services reopened. This week will see pubs in the North allowed to trade outdoors before moving indoors in three weeks.
Brian Renaghan is a publican from Clontibret and is part of the Vintners Federations campaign seeking a similar reopening on this side of the border. He spoke to Aaron McElroy on The Wider View and started by explaining how he feels as pubs nearby in Armagh are preparing to open on Friday.
