Monaghan County Council is hosting workshops from Monday the 22nd of May right through to Sunday, May 28th that will include exploration on Slieve Beagh, information on traditional cures; bat watching and much, much more. It's all part of National Biodiversity Week which begins on Monday.
Anne Bleakley will host a traditional cures workshop on Tuesday, the 23rd of May and she spoke to the Wider View this week about why cures are so important and the emphasis that is place on them in rural Ireland.
First though, Anne began by explaining the role of plants and animals in those cures.
