Payments to Ukrainian refugees are set to be cut within 12 weeks. Cabinet yesterday signed off on moves to streamline the entitlements of all International Protection applicants and those who fled the war in Ukraine.
The provision of State accommodation has already been limited, and these latest measures will see 12 weeks notice given to those who'll be affected by the changes. The plans will mean all Ukrainian refugees are to receive the same rate of payment regardless of when they arrived to Ireland.
Chairperson of the Ukrainian Association Sergey Balan is based in Cavan and he gave Joe Finnegan his reaction to the news and says 'it is right everybody has to be part of the community'.
