An Athlone man has been appointed to lead the Defence Forces Covid-19 joint taskforce to provide aid and support to the state in efforts to contain the Coronavirus.
Newly appointed Brigadier General Brian Cleary will be based at McKee Barracks in Dublin and will be in charge of both army, navy and air corps personnel.
Brigadier General Brian Cleary spoke to the Joe Finnegan Show on Tuesday morning.
