Thousands of young people around the country will be heading out to what may be their first ever nightclub experience over the coming weeks, but they're being issued with a serious warning.
Longford woman Nia Gallagher, who's an online content creator with thousands of followers on Tik Tok decided to use her platform to warn her peers to be on their guard against spiked drinks, or even spiked needles.
Nia says she's used to taking precautions with her drink in a night club after she had a bad experience a couple of years ago, but she points out that a lot of young people may not be aware that it's an ongoing problem, as well as the new phenomenon of sticking people with needles that contain some kind of drug.
She spoke to Joe Finnegan this morning about the issue.
