A Monaghan native has recently been awarded a coveted University Dublin College innovation award.
Professor Michael Wallace, from Glaslough, is an agricultural economist within UCD.
He's been award the 2021 NOVA-UCD Innovation Award for his study which is titled: "Economic Impact Assessment of the Tillage Sector in Ireland".
The study was commissioned by Tillage Industry Ireland, and some of the key figures in the study include the finding that the Irish tillage sector generates econmic outputs of €1.3 billion per year.
The study also highlighed how the tillage sector could be key in helping Irish agriculture meet its climate targets.
