Tánaiste Leo Vararadkar, local Minister Heather Humphreys, and County Council Cathaoirleach Aidan Campbell officially opened the Bally Food Hub in a visit to Co Monaghan last week.
The Ballybay Food Hub offers test Kitchen facilities to both start-up and established businesses to enable them to test their new product ideas before scaling up.
Leo Varadkar said "food production" will play a big role in allowing people to live and work in rural Ireland, and added that the Ballybay Food Hub represents the government's "vision for the future of rural Ireland".
Meanwhile, Minister Humphreys expressed hope that one of the Ballybay Food Hub's current tenants could become a major national player.
