An initiative to welcome cocooners back to the towns and shops around Monaghan has been launched.
Following many delays and postponements, the "Come back Cocooners" campaign, developed by the Monaghan Age Friendly Programme and the local business community in Monaghan, has officially begun.
It's aim is to encourage older people to return to shopping in their local towns, through promotional booklet highlighting deals and offers solely for those who had to cocoon or are over 70.
Bernie Bradley is the Age Friendly Manager and she says businesses can still get involved by contacting the council and she is also urging the older community to take full advantage of these offers.
