It's been warned that there will be 3,400 fewer jobs in the drink and hospitality sectors in border counties next year, due to the impact of covid-19.
That's according to analysis from Drinks Industry Group of Ireland, in relation to a new report from DCU economist Anthony Foley.
DIGI says continued consumer reluctance due to the pandemic, a drop in foreign tourism, and the rise of overseas holidays is creating a two-tier recovery, with rural areas likely to be disproportionately affected.
