Border counties are a priority for the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys.
That's after she launched the Enterprise 2025 Renewed and the Action Plan for Jobs 2018 on Friday afternoon. The event was held at Monaghan Mushrooms in Tyholland which is believed to the first occasion the plan was launched outside Dublin. This year's action plan includes a 300 million euro loan scheme to help businesses deal with the fallout from Brexit. It also includes the introduction of 10 new apprenticeship programmes and almost 4 thousand traineeships.
The Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys launched the plan at Monaghan Mushrooms last week. Minister Humphreys spoke to the Bottomline reporter and the Northern Standards Micháel Fisher at Fridays launch, she says her focus is to create jobs in border counties like Cavan and Monaghan.
Meanwhile, Monaghan Mushrooms owner Ronnie Wilson spoke to Pauric Clerkin at Fridays launch, he outlined his fears surrounding Brexit and other challenges his company face.
