One sport hit hard the Covid-19 restriction was those in the bowls community.
Not only played at a competitive level, the rolling out of mats around numerous country community halls and centres is a major social occasion for many of its members.
Paddy McElvaney is a member of the Monaghan Zone Short Mat Bowls Club who has not only competed at a local level but has also travelled the length and breadth of the country as well as to England and across Europe to compete.
