Young people are being reminded of how important their vote is in the general election.
The National Youth Council is urging 600 thousand eligible young voters to get to the polls tomorrow. Those aged between 18 and 29 make up one fifth of voters.
Kathryn Walsh, NYCI’s Director for Policy and Advocacy, and native of Ballyjamesduff, says it's important to make sure your voice is heard:
"Young people have been taken for granted. There's either the apathy that young people don't vote, they're not engaged, when we know ourselves looking at activism, whether it be digital activism or issues like climate change, social justice, mental health, young people are very much tuned into what's going on in the world. I think that they WILL vote tomorrow".
