Young Monaghan traditional fiddle player, Emma McCague, is continuing her "23 hours for Ashling" fundraiser in various venues across the county this weekend.
The 16-year-old Colaiste Oiriall student will play 23 hours of traditional music in sessions today and tomorrow in honour of the 23 years of Ashling Murphy's life.
Ashling Murphy from Offaly, was also a traditional fiddle player before she was murdered by Josef Puska in January 2022.
She was only 23.
The Ashling Memorial Fund was set up by Ashling's family following her death and offers other young traditional musicians scholarships and other opportunities in the craft.
Emma was inspired to raise money to keep Ashling's legacy alive.
Today, traditional music fans can see Emma in session at the Scotstown GAA Complex with the Eamonn Ó Mhuirí Comhaltas from 2pm until 4:30pm and again, at McCague's Bar from 8pm onwards.
Tomorrow, Sunday, Emma is joined by the Dusty Windowsills Band and Cian Murphy for a session at the Westenra Arms Hotel from 2pm.
