A County Tyrone teenager pulled out all the stops for his girlfriend after travelling via helicopter to her debs which was held in the Westenra Hotel in Monaghan town.
19-year-old Ethan Sherry made it a night to remember for his girlfriend Shannon Convie, who he said "jumped at the chance" as they both share a passion for aviation.
After collecting his girlfriend who is a student at St Catherine's College in Armagh up in style at her home, the helicopter landed in the car park of Armagh Rugby Club, where the pair then travelled with friends by bus to the popular Monaghan hotel.
While he joked and described the bus journey as somewhat of a "down grade" the young pilot certainly didn't feel the same way about the hospitality he received at the local venue.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Ethan, who at one time was the youngest pilot in the UK, after obtaining his licence at the age of 17, said the pair had "great craic" and that the night was "very enjoyable."
