A young man from County Cavan is hoping to inspire others to follow their dreams, after he set up his own health care business as a teenager.
Cian Smith, from Ballinagh, first recognised serious issues in the Irish health care system while working in a local nursing home as part of his Transition Year work experience.
The now 20 year old says after seeing how overworked and underappreciated both carers and nurses were in the system, he felt compelled to set up his own business.
The Ballinagh native is now celebrating one year in business and he says things are going from strength to strength
Cian runs his business still from home and hopes one day to become a healthcare staff supplier to the HSE. He says his age and also being a man were two main barriers that almost preventing the business from even starting. He said the drive and the passion he had was what got him to were he is today.
