Combilift gained further global recognition with securing two awards at the recent UK Materials Handling Association Awards in Birmingham last weekend. The local company was up against some of the biggest names in Material handling, they walked away with the coveted Ergonomics Award of the year and the Manufacturer Product Innovation of the Year. 20 employees from the UK and Irish team attended that awards ceremony. Combilift's Heavy Equipment Team won the "Design Team of the Year" award for their work on the company's innovative 12-wheel Combi-LC Blade", a machine specifically engineered to handle off-shore wind turbine blades.
While the Combi LC Blade earned the Manufacturer Product of the Year award for its innovative design, which has revolutionised the handling of offshore
wind turbine blades. These blades, which can reach up to 115 meters in length and weigh as much as 70 tonnes, require specialised equipment for
safe transport. Combilift CEO and Co-Founder Martin McVicar says the innovative 12-wheel Combi-LC Blade will further create jobs locally.
