Works are underway on the delivery of a Aldi store in Monaghan Town.
Aldi confirmed to Northern Sound that the new store will open in less than 12 months,
The confirmation followed the news in recent months that after a long number of years seeking planning permission, the German retail oulet was given the green light. The retail giant outlet lodged plans back in April for the construction of an 1,800sq m single storey food store at the town's Macartan Road junction and the Glen Road.
The approved plans form part of the retail firm's continued expansion nationwide and follows planning approval for a €6.5m store in Cootehill earlier this year. 20 full time jobs will be created by the store opening in Monaghan.
Meanwhile a spokesperson from Aldi Ireland said with regards to the new store for Cootehill, they remain committed to constructing and opening a new store in Cootehill in the near future and will announce the date in due course.
